Jellyfisherman Dhiraj Om is struggling to make ends meet, so when a valuable pleasure robot called Naomi ends up adrift in his nightly North Sea catch, an opportunity presents itself. Trouble is, Naomi’s illegal, and her owner, London underworld kingpin Agarkka D’Souza, doesn’t take kindly to his things being taken.

After the botched black market sale of Naomi sends Dhiraj on the run, he finds himself caught in a web of corruption that stretches from London to the thriving oil ports of southern Nigeria. The resulting chaos threatens to change the lives of Dhiraj and D’Souza forever, if they even survive.

Man O'War began life as a 75-word story submitted for one of the monthly writing challenges on SFF Chrons. It didn't win, but caught the attention of one or two other members to warrant at least a conversation. From that there came a short story called Class: Utusukushidesu, which you can read on this very websiteClass... served as a kind of proof of concept for a novel that would explore these themes in more depth. That novel would become Man O'War. I thrashed it out in less than a year, fleshing out the themes of robotics, transhumanism, isolation and corporatism, and Snowbooks offered me a contract for it in August 2016. I'm very proud and excited about the book, and look forward to seeing it finally published.
