The Dark Tower
Lying ‘neath the moon, resplendent in the starlight
She shimmers, the maid that was Ellen
A girl who lived each day, now trapped in dreams of sorrow
She sleeps while she's awake.
Dancing in the fire, releasing her from darkness
Her spirit, a wisp upon the wind
To thee I bid farewell, I swear to gaze, my sister,
Upon the Castle stone.
Lucid clouds of pain have riven my defences,
Infected, the visions haunt my mind.
The stone has voiced its call, its shadow cast upon me
Dominion, its caprice.
Kneeling, ‘fore my Queen, she weeps and cries for reason
But fallen, she sees her line is lost.
She gifts Excalibur, I kiss her for the last time
And turn away from life
She sits on her throne
The child Queen of dreams
Taken by the stone
Forever she will gleam.
Her child’s fate is sown
The Empress’ sad eyes stream
Hoping, now I've flown,
A sacrifice redeems.

Passing, to he who knew of Vortigern’s dilemma,
Whose towers, the hydras rent in twain
I seek the Warlock's words,
The wisdom that will light me through my Odyssey.
Ancient arcane rites the cambion has spoken
To summon the power of the fates
My passage is written.
I, who make this journey, am never to return
Frightened, but undeterred, I find the road’s beginning
The first step death will claim me at.
Forsaken, I judge the earth, offended by its decay;
A living tomb descried, this grave will halt me not,
For I will come to stand tall in the court of the Crimson King
With eyes shut, and breath drawn.
Death smiles down upon me as heavy falls the step
He sits on his throne
An errant King’s regime
Never to atone
The tyrant reigns supreme
I stand on my own
A childe Prince I scream
Tired and alone
My centuries’theme
Vacant, incomplete
Forsaken by the lightning at my feet
Accelerates the fighting through the ash
The dust has cloud my (sight)less comes the smash
Citadel of the (Night)mares make me thrall
Shapeless horrors (Dwell)ing Phantoms crawl
From the Halls of (Hell)ish creatures howl
A realm where terrors (Swell)ing waters foul
This shattered land a Shell

Years have scarred my face
Swallowed by the (Time)less I embrace
The never-ending (Climb)ing through the shit
Wounds fester in (Grime)y lesions split
My death song starts to (Chime)ing by the bell
All my comrades (Fall)ing at the knell
I remain to (Crawl)ing to the end
I'll never yield the (Call)ing I transcend
The pain to stand me tall.

Heed the end
Ailing but for my pride;
The last I defend
Falling down
Under a dying sun
Despairing I drown
But there! On the hills
Stare the lost souls, my brothers who died
And then did I know
This story of Old was told
For in my final hour
My eyes behold
The Dark Tower.
