As well writing books and stories I occasionally lend my pen to lyrics, too. My brother Darryl's progressive rock band, Sky Empire, asked me to write lyrics for three of the songs on their album The Dark Tower, which they recently released via Rock Company Records. The album's title song is loosely based on Robert Browning's ballad Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came, but the rest of the songs don't form any particular narrative. However, I always considered the three songs whose lyrics I penned to have the common theme of 'Escape'.

Of the five tracks, I wrote the lyrics to Marionette; The Wind, The Sand, The Stars; and The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Anyone who's into vaguely proggy stuff with a hard edge will hopefully find happiness therein, and I've embedded all the songs right here (obviously, the lyrics are, er, the most important bit... so I've reproduced them here also).
